No-exam life insurance
Understand who qualifies, the process behind fast decisions, and what happens if you don't.
Modern accelerated underwriting speeds decisions for qualifying applicants by examining applications, RX history, driving records and other information in place of a medical exam. Approvals sometimes arrive the same business day. Each quoted plan discloses exam status: required, possibly required, or not needed.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no underwriting. Your information is confirmed, and policies based on false statements can be challenged in the first two years. The carrier may still request an exam or lab tests if something warrants it; you choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under age 60, applying for standard benefit amounts, with clean health records and no tobacco use for a year or longer qualify. Recent medical records with bloodwork may substitute for an exam with some carriers.
Should one be needed, exams typically last 20 to 30 minutes with a paramedic visiting your home or workplace in the Napa region, free of charge. Healthy applicants often get better rates after exam results, making it beneficial rather than burdensome.
